Based on the traffic generation and expected number of visits, a rate is agreed upon with the advertiser. The higher the visibility, the higher will be the value of a click. This is the most preferred PPC model and is generally used by e-commerce websites and portals.

Bid-based model

In the bid based model, the spot for advertisement is auctioned by the publisher through an advertising network. Whenever the ad spot is open for publishing, it is automatically put to auction. A base price is set and so is the duration of the advertisement. The highest bidder gets the spot.
